Don’t worry, Kelly Clarkson fans. The original American Idol winner and cover queen is expected to resume hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show post haste, according to Deadline.
Many viewers of the talk show raised concerns after the 42-year-old singer missed a taping earlier this month with very little notice and no explanation. During the episode that dropped on March 3, scheduled guest Simu Liu told the audience he was asked to fill in for the host upon arriving for his guest appearance on the Emmy-winning talk show.
“Kelly actually isn’t able to make it today. We’re sending her our very best,” Liu said at the time. “I did not know that I was doing this until about five minutes ago when I arrived here to promote my new movie Last Breath, which is in theaters right now.”
He continued, “I’m here now, and look, I’m not one to back down from a challenge and I did host the show about three years ago…So let’s do this.”
Though Clarkson hosted the episodes that aired on March 4 and March 5, she has yet to return to the show since those dates. Here’s everything we know about her absence, who has been hosting, and when the “Since U Been Gone” singer is expected to return to 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
Wait, what’s going on?
Clarkson’s last official taping occurred on March 5 when she spoke with Jason Isaac about The White Lotus season three. Other guests included Jason Derulo, Nora Fatehi, and musical guest Allie X, who performed her single “Black Eye.”
