It has created a new strand of more grungy streetwear. Ripped denim, cracked graphic tees, and pre-distressed footwear are the uniform for some of hip-hop’s biggest acts and their fanbases. Now, we’re also seeing a lot more upstart brands tap into this style. These seven brands are pushing streetwear deeper into its rockstar era.

Paly Hollywood feels like it crawled out of a lost VHS tape with its hand-painted tees and distressed sweat sets. Co-founded by James Franco and Kyle Lindgren, the LA-based label’s designs capture the beauty of imperfection from the DIY punk scene. Every piece looks like it was made in a garage and that’s exactly the point.

Iconaclub is what Suki from Fast & Furious would wear in real life.The brand is where street-racing and fashion meet. It channels Y2K car culture into denim jackets, graphic tees, and accessories that look straight out of a Tokyo Drift scene. Iconaclub is built for the ones who treat getting dressed like pulling up to the starting line.

Founded by designer and artist Mama Earthling, the LA-based brand is a goldmine for vintage tee collectors. Tucked inside its three-level showroom is a tightly curated lineup of rare band merch, rap tees, and pop culture grails that feel handpicked for someone who grew up on LimeWire and music blogs. For those who are not local to LA, a portion of the archive is now on Complex Shop.

Founded in 2021, On The Arm is a UK-based streetwear label that nods to anime culture without screaming it. You’ll find tees, hoodies, and accessories with graphics inspired by West Coast Choppers available on Complex Shop.

Founded by Darrian Scott in Houston in 2020, Stolen Arts first gained traction with its custom rhinestone belts featuring characters like Kuromi and Kirby. Now based in NYC, the brand has expanded into apparel, all of it riddled with nostalgic pop culture icons and early-aughts maximalism. Most recently, Kendrick Lamar was seen rocking the Skull Roller belt on the Grand National Tour.

Outlw is a brand built on a rebellious spirit. Simple words and acronyms get flipped on their head and printed across bomber jackets, hoodies, and tees. The Westw0rld hoodie and work pants push the attitude even further with boot-stitch embroidery motifs that channel the Wild Wild West.

Lostshdws emerged onto the streetwear scene in 2021. Its distinct asterisk logo, often stamped down the legs of its jeans, makes its designs instantly recognizable. Washed-out hoodies and tees feature cracked graphics that look like they’ve been dug up from the bottom of a merch bin.
