Peso Pluma can add another notch to his belt after officially being named the first Mexican ambassador for New York Fashion Week.
The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) announced Pluma’s title at Rockefeller Center on Monday (Sept. 8), kicking off the NYFW festivities.
Pluma is in good company, being joined by CFDA Chairman Thom Browne, designers Michael Kors and Anna Sui, and fellow ambassadors Anok Yai and Young Miko.
Pluma’s appointment recognizes his influence both musically and stylistically, introducing Mexican culture to a worldwide audience. In press materials, the “Hollywood” singer is lauded for placing “música Mexicana at the center of one of fashion’s most influential stages, highlighting his impact beyond music as a style leader and cultural trailblazer.”
The 2025 ComplexCon headliner has had a whirlwind of a year. The 26-year-old isn’t just putting regional Mexican music on the map, but he’s breaking records too. His 2024 album, Éxodo, garnered 29.8 million global streams in its first 24 hours on Spotify, a first for a Mexican artist on the streaming platform. The album, which featured Cardi B, Rich the Kid, Quavo, DJ Snake, Anitta, Arcángel and more, was accompanied by a successful arena tour.
ComplexCon returns to Las Vegas on October 25–26, 2025, with over 300 brands and live performances by Young Thug, YEAT & Friends, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Ken Carson, and more. Get your tickets now.
