There’s no telling what actor Timothée Chalamet will wear to a red carpet event. He could be debuting Haider Ackermann’s first Tom Ford collection, cosplaying as Bob Dylan (specifically, Dylan circa 2003, when he had blond bangs), or attending the Met Gala in sweats, but his outfits frequently entice, entertain, and/or beguile.
At the 2026 Golden Globes tonight, the actor did all three—and, of course, collected his first-ever best actor trophy at the show—in an outfit that any self-respecting, New York-bred hypebeast could appreciate: a custom velvet, three-piece Chrome Hearts suit tucked into a pair of black boots from the gothy California label’s collaboration with Timberlands.
It was one of several times Chalamet has worn custom Chrome in the last year. Last Valentine’s Day, he rocked a baby-pink Chrome track suit to the Berlin premiere of A Complete Unknown. He wore a custom varsity jacket and cross-embroidered jeans to a Knicks playoff game. And he and his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, wore matching Marty–Supreme-orange Chrome looks to the LA premiere of—what else?—Marty Supreme.
At the Golden Globes, the newly minted best actor winner skipped the prescribed button-down shirt and opted instead for a casual, nineties layer: a simple black T-shirt. With his cropped ’do, the overall effect brought to my mind a young Johnny Depp, a charming Freddie Prinze Jr., a brooding Keanu Reeves, or even a Chromed-out Matt LeBlanc. Timmy punctuated his all-black look with silver accessories: a Cartier Panthère de Cartier pendant necklace and a black Urban Jürgensen watch.
On stage, Chalamet collected his Golden Globe with a short and respectful speech about gratitude and Mr. Wonderful. He thanked the film’s writers, director, and, of course, his partner.
