This is the one place I will turn to a brand that’s not Shokz. While the brand’s OpenSwim Pro are a solid option for swimmers, I think these from H20 Audio are a stronger pick. As regular ole bone-conductor headphones for landlubbers, they are comfy with a secure fit (which also makes them perfect for swimmers). They have full Bluetooth capabilities and don’t sound half-bad either.
For swimming, headphones have to work slightly differently—like an MP3 player you load songs on. Bluetooth can’t cut through water, not yet at least, so you’ll have to switch to your downloaded tracks when you’re underwater. When you emerge on land, you’ll get full Bluetooth and a workable microphone for taking calls.
The MP3 storage is a healthy eight gigs, giving you enough room for a couple thousand songs or over 100 hours of audio (see: podcast). On a single charge, the battery will last you up to six hours in MP3 mode and closer to nine using Bluetooth. I just wish there were another size of headband on offer for those who need it.
