Did you know that Grammy-winning rapper Future is a tennis buff? It’s okay to tell the truth. I’ll even go first: No, I did not know that Grammy-winning rapper Future is a tennis buff. But here we are, looking at the essentials he carries in his Louis Vuitton bag, and it’s impossible to ignore that big ol’ racket tucked under a handful of gummies and a gold chain.
Future serves. He volleys. He shouts “15/Love” from the baseline. Now you know.
This knowledge comes courtesy of Louis Vuitton’s latest campaign, dubbed, appropriately, “In My Bag.” It features the Speedy P9, Pharrell Williams’s take on the French fashion house’s iconic carryall that—unlike the original version from the ‘30s—is done up not in coated canvas but in supple, durable calfskin.
Alongside Future—we’ve got the exclusive first look at his bag, by the way—there are entries from LeBron James, Jeremy Allen White, Jude Bellingham, Jackson Wang, and Victor Wembanyama. White carries the paper and a cap. LeBron has golf balls. Bellingham carries his keys and passport.
Each bag and its components provide a glimpse into the personality who carries it. White, it seems, is keen on current events and a little anonymity. LeBron is always ready for recreation. Bellingham might just be the most practical of the bunch.
And Future, for his part, is all about locking in. “I like to be in my zone and focused when I’m outside,” he says. “Keeping things like my LV sunglasses on me is an essential part of my style.”
And if he happens to come across a tennis court while he’s in his zone and focused? We can all rest assured that he’ll be ready with his racket.
