Charles Melton might forever be remembered for his role in the tween CW drama Riverdale, but as any teeny bopper actor should know, all it takes is one breakout role to secure future acting greatness. Luckily for Melton, he’s more than showed off his acting chops having raised award buzz for his role in Todd Haynes’ May December, garnering acclaim from critics and audiences for his turn as the lead in the season 2 of Beef, and now a part in Nicolas Winding Refn’s upcoming film Her Private Hell, which received a seven-minute standing ovation after its premiere at Cannes Film Festival.
Melton pulled off a couple sartorially excellent fits at Cannes, rocking both a burgundy double-breasted Louis Vuitton suit and Gucci tuxedo, but as anyone who enjoys getting dressed up knows: You can’t always be going dapper. On the way out of Cannes at Nice Airport, Melton chose comfort over everything, donning a Louis Vuitton zip-up hoodie paired with a complementary LV suitcase, black wide-legged pants, and a pair of Hoka Bondi 7 sneakers. And in case there was any mistaking him for a regular Joe Schmo, he put on a pair of black sunglasses to hide his striking eyes.

As airport style continues to evolve—or in some cases revert back to the days of actually getting dressed to hit the open skies—Melton prioritized comfort, especially by opting for Hoka’s most cushy sneakers. The Bondis, now in their ninth iteration, are firmly in the brand’s max-cushion category, featuring lightweight foam and a stable sole for when you actually decide to take these shoes onto the pavement and not just the airport runway.
For his Bondi 7s, the based Hoka-enjoyer opted for the black stealth colorway, matching his black and off-white ensemble. While stealth might not be Melton’s forte (there’s no way you can’t recognize those enviable curly locks), his podiatrist must be happy he’s taking his foot health seriously. And with the praise he’s getting for his new film, he’s surely going to be doing a lot of press in the near future.
