C.J. Stroud is the newest athlete who has signed with Jordan Brand.
On the first Sunday of the new NFL season, Jordan Brand shared a video post on Instagram announcing Stroud’s signing with the company. The video showed Stroud at a photo shoot and wearing Jordan Brand apparel while the phrase “OUR TURN” appeared on the screen.
“They ain’t ready. Welcome to the Jordan fam, @cj7stroud,” Jordan Brand wrote in its caption.
The Houston Texans quarterback said in an interview with Boardroom that the deal has been in the works for the last five years. As part of the deal, he’ll be wearing a variety of Jumpman cleats on game day this year and will appear on the company’s billboards. If his stock continues to rise, Stroud will most likely get his own signature line with the company as well.
“Once we introduce people to the things we’re doing as a brand? It’s gonna make people not only support Jordan Brand but support me within that as well. I’m very excited for that,” Stroud told Boardroom. “Having a relationship with the people who make everything work. Building a team and combining my team with the Jordan Brand will make my experience more intimate and successful in the long run.”
The 22-year-old is entering his second NFL season after a successful rookie campaign. He led the team to a division title and playoff victory, and he won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, throwing 4,108 yards and 23 touchdowns.
