I strive to be more creative than this. This year, I’m really hoping this New York or Nowhere x Mets hoodie comes back in stock in time, but I’m not optimistic. When I come up empty on new ideas with Father’s Day mere days away, I can never go wrong with my dad’s longtime favorite cologne. (It’s truly the only one he’s ever worn since I was a kid.) Mountain Bar Glasses (Set of 2)

You want the honest to god truth? I’m going to send the man a punny card with a nice note and $150. Then I’ll text him Esquire links about sotol, baiju, and bourbon. But if I were to buy a physical something, I’d get him these whiskey glasses with a topographic of Half Dome from Huckberry. I got him a decanter the brand did in collaboration with The Explorer’s Club, and he loves that. These would finish the set. —Luke Guillory, commerce editor

Papa has a penchant for a relatively high-maintenance shaving routine. It typically consists of old-school instruments, like fine shaving brushes and shaving soaps in tubs, that serve a ritual purpose. After borrowing my Wahl trimmer, he’s on the market to update some old-school habits to further finesse his meticulous routine. A new gadget like this trimmer will do just the trick given his demanding taste. —Alfonso Fernandez Navas, senior editor of style and market

C.A.C. Utility Axis Lock Pocket Knife

I also tend to buy something for my older brother who has kids around Father’s Day. He’s not my dad, but I love him and my nephews a lot, so it’s a thing I like to do. He and our dad are EDC guys, so I could actually double up on this one. I want to get one of these Combat Assistance Campagne (C.A.C) knives used by the French military. They’re made by TB Outdoor, a French knife maker that’s owned by families who have been making cutlery since the 1600s. These knives are military surplus, so they have all the hardcore stuff you’d expect like a strap cutter, window breaker, and reverse clip.
