Ok, but in the organic pillow world, latex is the king fabric. Though I’m a wool man myself, I can’t deny the fact that latex is an incredible pillow material. It holds its shape like memory foam and offers the same bounciness, but it doesn’t trap heat. It might be the perfect pillow material, and that’s why it’ll feature heavily in the rest of this story.
That said, the one latex pillow I’d choose over the rest is Saatva’s. First, there’s a lovely organic cotton cover. Second, the latex core is firm, cool, and holds its shape well over time. The third thing, and possibly the controversial point, is that Saatva uses microdenier fiber around its latex core. This takes away from the organic-ness of the mattress, but if you can stand that, I prefer the sleeping experience. These fiber shreds are thinner than the latex shreds you see on the Naturepedic pillow coming up next, so it feels a bit more down-like, which I love.
If you care about having a full-organic pillow, though, go for the American Blossom Linens pillow above or the Naturepedic pillow below.
