Timothée Chalamet has been, to put it frankly, desperate for an Oscar, and, on his fourth nomination, he’s going into the ceremony more confident than ever. After an awards campaign of sheer chaos, and a victory at the Golden Globes, he’s running headfirst into the 2026 Academy Awards with the bold attitude that’s defined this press run, and on this occasion, he’s got the suit to match.

Though his style isn’t quite as eclectic as it was a few years ago (we’re never going to forget about his backless red Haider Ackermann top from the Bones and All premiere in Venice), Chalamet still knows how to turn out a sleek look with a bit of bravado. For this year, he’s found his flawless formula and he’s sticking to it.

ANGELA WEISS

Standing out from the many black tuxedos and blazers, the Marty Supreme actor took to the 2026 Oscars carpet in an all-white suit created by British designer Sarah Burton for Givenchy. Since bringing out that butter yellow suit for the Oscars last year, marking Burton’s first custom menswear moment for the house, the actor has worn multiple looks from the designer.

This time, matching with his Marty co-star Gwynneth Paltrow, who also wore all-white, he wore a double-breasted blazer with sharp peak lapels and loose pleated trousers that made for a more relaxed and modern take on red carpet styling. In short, he eschewed the tradition of wearing black tie to the Oscars in favor of something altogether more eye catching. Paired with his tiny black cross brooch and sundowner black sunglasses, the 30-year-old made—as we’re sure he wanted—quite the statement.

Is he trying to piss off the Academy by skipping on tradition? Maybe! But we have to admit he looks damn good in doing so.
