It turns out that Nike isn’t just bringing back classic Kobe 1 colorways like the “81 Points” for this year’s Protro run of the model. There’s also a new iteration of Kobe Bryant’s first Nike signature shoe on the way, inspired by the Forum arena in California.

This upcoming Kobe 1 makeup features plenty of hidden details referencing the indoor arena in Inglewood, CA. The years 1967-1999, which were when the Los Angeles Lakers played in the arena before moving to the team’s current Crypto.com arena, appear behind the tongue. The rest of the shoe is dressed in a blue-based makeup and has crackled leather details on the Swoosh and forefoot. The eyelets come with gold accents, which is likely a nod to the Lakers’ championships.

Despite images of the Forum-inspired Kobe 1 surfacing, a firm release date for the new colorway has yet to be announced by the brand. Stay tuned for official updates.
