After a lengthy halt to the partnership between Tom Sachs and Nike in 2023 following allegations made about the artist for harboring a hostile work environment, the collaborative releases between the two entities are back on with their much-anticipated Mars Yard 3.0 this fall.

Today, Sachs and Nike dropped a 17-minute video on YouTube that broke down the history of the Mars Yard sneaker. Around the 15-minute mark, Sachs begins to talk about the Mars Yard 3.0, revealing all the new design elements on the updated version.

The Mars Yard 3.0 has an open mesh upper with a new silkscreen-printed Swoosh on the sides. The eyelets now feature an oversized design for the round polyester laces, with nylon straps on the tongue and heel. Paired with the React foam midsole are the black TPU toe cap and TPU heel clip, while a natural rubber outsole sits below.

“What I’m really excited about this shoe is that people might look at it and be like, ‘Nothing changed,'” Sachs said. “And that’s exactly what I want. You want it to feel like the last one, but it couldn’t be more different. There’s nothing on this that’s the same.”

Readers will be able to cop the Tom Sachs x Nike Mars Yard 3.0 sometime in September, but official launch details for the project have yet to be announced. Check back soon for updates.
