The Air Jordan 4 “White Cement” 2025 retro, which is days away, should be one of the biggest Air Jordan releases of the year. It’s the kind of shoe that always feels welcome—every time Jordan has re-released this Jordan 4 since its 1989 debut, it’s been an event for sneaker collectors. The latest iteration of the “White Cement” Jordan 4 (style code FV5029-100) will release on Saturday, May 24, for $225.
How does this year’s Air Jordan 4 “White Cement” compare to previous versions? Overall, it’s a faithful retro. It has the original “Nike Air” branding on the heel, rather than the Jumpman that sometimes appears there, and there’s speckling overlay on that wordmark heel hit that was introduced on the ‘89 design and went missing on some of the retros. It’s still a clunky shoe to wear—Jordan 4 retros have never been that comfortable—and the leather isn’t plush, but it might be the best version of the Air Jordan 4 “White Cement” yet.
Air Jordan superfan Sean Collard believes this year’s pair is the closest to the original that the “White Cement” Jordan 4s have ever been. Marvin Barias, a collector who goes by Mjo23dan, is also complimentary of the new pair.
“I held them back in October at Nike’s headquarters and had a great first impression,” Barias says. “The new shape and feel is great.”
What else do you need to know about the Air Jordan 4 “White Cement” ahead of its release weekend?
The History of the Air Jordan 4 ‘White Cement’
The Air Jordan 4 “White Cement” is one of the four original colorways of the Air Jordan 4 from 1989—it’s also a common pick for best Air Jordan of all time. Michael Jordan wore the shoe regularly during the 1989-90 NBA season, the colorway appeared in Spike Lee’s ads for the Jordan 4, and had a famous cameo in Lee’s movie Do The Right Thing.
The Air Jordan 4 “White Cement” has been released as a retro a total of four times, inclusive of the 2025 pair. The sneaker first came back in 1999 in the first wave of Air Jordan 4 retros, with a build and “Nike Air” heel branding that was relatively close to the ‘89 original. After that was the Air Jordan 4 “White Cement” in 2012, the definite nadir of the retros, which had the Jumpman logo on the back (unlike the original) and a darker shade of “tech grey” accents. Jordan Brand fixed the sneaker for the 2016 build, which looked closer to the first version with its lighter grey shade, contrasty speckling, and “Nike Air” heel mark.
When Can You Buy the Air Jordan 4 ‘White Cement’?
The Air Jordan 4 “White Cement” will be widely available. The shoe will release via the Nike SNKRS app here and through Jordan Brand’s retail partners. The Air Jordan 4 “White Cement” will be available at most stockists with a decent Jordan account—this includes big box stores like Foot Locker (which is selling pairs via its app) and JD Sports, as well as smaller accounts like Extra Butter and Sneakersnstuff.
There’s no indication that this Jordan 4 release will be limited, meaning that it likely won’t be selling for too much over its retail price on the secondary market.
How Much Are the ‘White Cement’ Air Jordan 4s?
The retail price for the 2025 Air Jordan 4 “White Cement” retro in men’s sizes is $225. The sneakers get cheaper the smaller they get: big kids’ sizes are $160, little kids’ sizes are $100, and the baby sizes are $85.
This year’s “White Cement” Air Jordan 4 is the most expensive version of the sneaker that’s ever released, which isn’t surprising given the always-rising cost of footwear. The original Air Jordan 4s from ‘89 retailed for $110. When the shoes first came back, in ‘99, they sold for $100. After that, the “White Cement” Jordan 4 from 2012 sold for $160 at retail; the 2016 version sold for $220.
How Do The Air Jordan 4s Fit?
In this writer’s opinion, the latest version of the Air Jordan 4 “White Cement” runs true to size. The shoe feels slightly loose around the collar area, but I wouldn’t recommend going a half size up or down.
The Air Jordan 4 can sometimes be a tight sneaker in the toebox area, particularly around the pinky toe. I found that on the 2025 Air Jordan 4 “White Cement” the toebox is high enough to allow for movement and not so narrow that it creates any pinching on my pinky toes.
How Is the Leather on the Air Jordan 4?
The SNKRS app description says that this “White Cement” Air Jordan 4 uses a “premium” leather, but we found it feels a little on the cheap side. This is not the thicker leather used on this year’s Air Jordan 1 “Bred,” nor is it the tumbled leather found on the Air Jordan 3. The leather on the 2025 “White Cement” Air Jordan 4 looks a bit like that used on a standard general release pair of Nike Air Force 1s.
Are the sneakers going to crease up? The toe on my right shoe was bubbled up just a bit after a full day of wear in the “White Cement” Jordan 4, so it’s definitely a possibility. Is that enough to make it worth skipping this all-time great Air Jordan? We’ll let you decide that.
