The artist formerly known as Kanye West and Bianca Censori are taking legal action against celebrity dentist Dr. Thomas P. Connelly. For those who have continued to closely follow Ye’s work in recent years, that name will be a familiar one, as Connelly was previously accused by former YZY Chief of Staff Milo Yiannopoulous of facilitating a nitrous oxide addiction. Connelly, through a rep, emphatically denied the claims at the time.
Thursday, Yiannopoulos, who now serves as Head of Special Projects for YZY, shared a statement with Complex announcing that Ye and Bianca were suing Connelly for what they allege to be “life-altering harm caused by malice, misappropriation, and malpractice.”
More specifically, the statement, which states that Connelly has been served a formal notice about the medical malpractice suit, lists the following allegations: medical malpractice, gross negligence, fraud, exploitation, abandonment, psychological and emotional trauma, reckless administration of controlled and uncontrolled substances, and “other malicious and deceitful behaviors.”
The statement also sees Connelly accused of charging $50,000 a month for nitrous, as well as trying to “seize control of” the YZY LLC “while its principal, Ye, was incapacitated with a cocktail of controlled and uncontrolled substances.”
The formal notice mentioned above was also shared with Complex. In it, the allegations against Connelly are elaborated on in greater detail, including accusations of “encouraging” self-administration of gas without proper supervision. Also mentioned in the nine-page document attributed to Andrew D. Cherkasky of Golden Law, Inc. are alleged texts and emails in which Connelly is said to have admitted to wrongdoing.
Complex has reached out to reps for Connelly for comment. Just under a year ago, the dentist, mostly known for cosmetic work, was all over headlines in connection with Milo’s allegations against him. In response to a request for comment from Complex at the time, a spokesperson for the dentist, whose Instagram features work for Candice Swanepoel and AJ McLean, among others, denied “all the false allegations” from a then-recent Milo affidavit.
“Dr. Thomas P. Connelly categorically denies all the false allegations made by Milo Yiannopoulos in his affidavit,” the spokesperson said, as we first reported back in August 2024. “Mr. Yiannopoulos, who has admitted in the same affidavit to being motivated by personal grievances, has presented a narrative that is not only factually incorrect but also intentionally misleading. Dr. Connelly has never engaged in any reckless, unethical, or illegal conduct, nor has he ever endangered the health and safety of any of his patients.”
The rep continued, “Mr. Yiannopoulos, a self-admitted provocateur with a history of attention-seeking behavior, has fabricated a narrative that is both factually incorrect and maliciously intended to damage Dr. Connelly’s professional reputation. His allegations are completely unfounded and devoid of any credible evidence. As a licensed dental professional, Dr. Connelly adheres strictly to all ethical and legal standards, and any allegations to the contrary are baseless.”
