Kit Connor loves Carhartt. Back in 2023, the British actor practically lived in the workwear label’s Cartograph jacket. He even showed up to a few film premieres in it, too. Who can blame him? There are very few brands out there that endlessly fly so high; as fellow Carhartt fan Austin Butler once told GQ of the rugged jackets, “As they get worn in, they just feel better and better.”

So in New York City this week, when Connor was heading to Good Morning America to talk all-things Warfare—the new Alex Garland movie about a Navy SEAL mission during the Iraq War, circa 2006—it was little surprise that he pulled up in a Carhartt Detroit jacket. After all, the fashion search engine Lyst did call it one of the “hottest products” of 2024, with searches up by over 400 per cent in the last few months. At first glance, the actor’s Detroit jacket looked like the standard-issue jacket you could buy off the rack today. Which is fine, and solid. But vintage-heads spotted something a little deeper.

The pockets on the Heartstopper star’s piece were at a slightly different angle. The zip across the chest was significantly bigger. The shoulders were slightly more structured. The sleeves were ripped and torn. And the canvas, which was originally black, has now faded into a dark charcoal. The jacket was also embroidered with the “Pinnacle Pete” logo from a presumably defunct motorsports team. If we had to make an educated guess, this was probably made in the late ’90s to early ’00s, and even though it’s likely decades old, it still looks sicker than ever.

Kit Connor isn’t the only member of the Warfare cast to hit up their thrift plug during the film’s press tour. Last month, Charles Melton was spotted in Los Angeles wearing a vintage leather flight jacket from Great Golden Fox.
