Rihanna is gushing about her man.
On Wednesday night, ASAP Rocky was honored at the 38th Annual Footwear News Achievement Awards with Collaboration of the Year for his sneaker with Puma.
When asked about Rocky finally receiving recognition in the fashion world, Rih told Extra, “I’m super proud. This is why I’m here. I left my kids to be here. I’m super proud of their dad. That’s my baby daddy!”
“I think he’s always influenced the fashion game,” the mother of two continued. “He’s always had a unique sense of style that I think designers have honed in on and actually used as inspiration for collections, and he’s never gotten the amount of credit that he deserves.”
Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty just dropped the Starlet Nights Collection, its holiday line of intimates and loungewear. But on Wednesday, it was all about ASAP.
“It just feels great to see him, like, achieve something that we always knew that he was a part of and influenced, and I’m proud to be here by his side,” the “Umbrella” singer said. “It is a big deal.”
In November, the ASAP Mob member released his motorsport-inspired capsule collection with Puma, which included the Inhale Mesh sneaker, as well as a slip-on shoe, sweatpants, a bomber jacket, gloves, a padded balaclava, and more.
Rocky was happy to accept the accolade.
“We’ve been doing this for a long time, you know,” he told Extra. “We’ve been changing it, and I’m just glad to finally get the recognition and, like I said, it’s beautiful and it’s a beautiful time, and I just feel really lucky and blessed.”
