What we love: Creed’s flagship fragrance is a classic for a reason: It’s damn good. I knew to expect something universally appealing, since this one is so popular, but I was surprised at how light and refreshing Aventus is; top notes of lemon, pink pepper, and pineapple give it an expensive-smelling zing. As it fades into a green, musky blend of jasmine, patchouli, and cedarwood, the scent settles into a confident, open masculinity. While many of Creed’s fragrances have been duped into oblivion, Aventus still smells a little different from everything else on the market—and the fact that it’s not overpowering is a plus.
