The Washington Spirit women’s soccer team and Domo Wells’ Dead Dirt have spring fever in a new capsule collaboration.
Designed by Wells, the Dead Dirt founder and creative director, the 2025 Cherry Blossom Capsule pays homage to streetwear from the Washington metropolitan area in the late ’90s and early 2000s.
The collection connects fashion, sport and culture with style references to Washington, D.C.’s quintessential go-go music and Ralph Lauren’s signature Polo and Rugby look, known to be worn by Georgetown University students.
Taylor Gang rapper and model Lola Monroe and actor Darrell Britt-Gibson, both of whom were raised in the DMV, show off the pieces in campaign photos.
Monroe wears a cream knit cardigan emblazoned with pink and black stripes with black pants that have a similar striped pattern and the words “Washington Spirit.”
Britt-Gibson sports a cool, collared forest green and black top that reads “Spirit Soccer Club” in a pink tone. The second look worn by Monroe is a black and green hoodie that shows the same message as Britt-Gibson’s piece but has ‘8’ on the sleeve and “District of Columbia” on the backside.
“This isn’t just merch—it’s an extension of the team’s identity and the history of city they represent,” Wells said in a statement shared with Complex. “The locker room setting is intentional. Aligning with the players sacred space of preparation … Women’s sports is having its moment, and we’re here to shape the visual language of that future in soccer.”
The Cherry Blossom capsule will be available beginning the week of April 14, in time for Washington Spirit ticket holders attending the team’s next home game on April 26.
