Fighting back the post-Labor Day gloom isn’t an easy task, especially when daylight is quite literally fleeting, and summer starts to feel like nothing more than a memory. So while I acknowledge the vibe shift in the air right now, I also believe in the regenerative powers of fall clothing, particularly when that clothing is ruthlessly cool and looks like it should cost hundreds of dollars more than it actually does—two boxes that the most recent Uniqlo: C collection decisively checks.
For those unfamiliar with Uniqlo’s newest designer-fronted sub-label, Uniqlo: C comes courtesy of Clare Waight Keller, who was at Chloé—and before that, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Gucci, Pringle of Scotland, and Givenchy—prior to taking on the creative director role at Uniqlo. Last fall, Uniqlo: C expanded into the men’s section, and since day one, it’s been all hits, no skips.
The latest assortment doesn’t merely keep that streak alive, it might be the strongest outing yet under the C banner. We’re talking an insane array of everyday outerwear, none of it exceeding $180, some of the most deliciously minimalist knits you can find at any price point, wonderfully baggy trousers, cozy-ass sweats, and more.
Which means that when it comes to value plays, there might not be anyone doing it like Uniqlo: C at the moment. But it also means a little bit of decisive shopping is key to snagging what you want. To help you zero-in on exactly that, we went through it all and pulled our favorites below, but head on over to Uniqlo’s site to see the full assortment for yourself.
